Sagittal Crystal - 3D profile during bending

Description | 3D Plot | Surface Profile Plot

Accurate measurement of the radius of curvature and the profile of a sagittal crystal while it is being bent are essential. The Zygo interferometer can be used to do this, producing graphical data as well as numerical data.

The slide show below shows oblique plots in 3D of the surface of a sagittal crystal during the process of bending after mounting on a mechanised bending system. The pictures show stages of bending from flat to a radius of curvature of 1.3m
